AF&PA opposes EPA plan for lowering ozone standard

The American Forest & Paper Association (AF&PA) criticized the US Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) announcement that it will lower the national ambient air quality standards (NAAQS) for ozone to 70 ppb from 75 ppb. "EPA's decision to tighten the ozone NAAQS standard was misguided, and we are disappointed by their action. Air quality is continuing to improve as a result of the billions of dollars of new investment currently being made under existing program implementation.
