With healthy export demand pushing out mill backlogs, North American extensible multiwall sack kraft paper producers had no difficulty implementing the remainder of the announced $50/ton price increase on noncontract customers in May, according to contacts. KapStone announced the price increase on extensible and other kraft paper grades for Mar. 1, while Premium One Papers, which represents Tolko and Canfor Pulp, scheduled its increase for May 1. PPl Pulp & Paper Weeks Price Watch reflected $20/ton of the extensible price increase in April and the remaining $30/ton in May.
