Value of US corrugated sector increased 1.1% to record $26.4 billion last year; both shipments, price edge up 0.2%

The value of US corrugated shipments rose 1.1% to a record $26.4 billion last year (from 2011's value total), according to the Fibre Box Assn (FBA) in its latest Industry Annual Report: 2012. As earlier reported in FBA's monthly statistics, box shipments in ft~2 showed a 0.2% increase to 359.8 billion ft~2 in 2012 (vs 2011 shipments), the third consecutive increase from the 345.1 billion ft~2 low in 2009 during the Great Recession.
