Coated mechanical paper (CM) price erosion that contacts described as confined to "spot tons" or "on the fringes" in January and the first part of February became more widespread later last month and in March, sources said this week. One commercial printer said pricing for his "first few shipments" of CM in February was unchanged from the prior month, but came down later in the month to pre-fall increase levels "effectively from Mar. 1."
