IP shuts two Courtiand PMs this week; final two to be shut in February

International Paper (IP) shut down two machines at its Courtiand, AL, mill this week, one that made bleached packaging and bag papers on Nov. 19 and the other that made uncoated freesheet (UFS) papers on Nov. 20, contacts said. The company expects to shut the rest of the mill in February, based on what executives told analysts last month.
