Resolute shuts Calhoun's 'high-cost' PM; to reopen Gatineau mill in early May

North America's largest newsprint maker by capacity, Resolute Forest Products, plans to indefinitely idle about a 215,000 tonnes/ yr newsprint machine at its Calhoun mill in Tennessee - probably during the Mar. 16-17 weekend. Some of the PM's customers said their future newsprint orders would be supplied by Resolute's Augusta, GA, mill that is about 290 miles away from Calhoun.
