Market pulp production reached 65 million tonnes in 2012, with about 28% coming from eucalyptus111. The importance of eucalyptus pulp in the world market is set to remain, as the 11,5 million tonnes of additional capacity that are planned to be installed in the coming five years proves. Such a growth is the result of numerous scientific and technical achievements in clonal plantations and fiber line technology. This improvement allows for the production of an excellent eucalyptus kraft pulp already able to replace softwood pulp in several applications. Eucalyptus pulp fibers have thus become the most demanded fibers available on the global market.
