ADDRESSING CHANGING TRENDS IN THE PAPER INDUSTRY

DIGITIZATION IS bringing significant changes to the paper industry. In fact, the changes are the largest the sector has seen since its industrialization. On the one hand, in media and in the office environment, digitization is displacing paper. On the other hand, paper is enjoying a boom as a result of packaging-interestingly enough also as a consequence of digital media. The sector, which enjoyed quite a boom 20 years ago, especially in Asia, is presently having to cope with a massive change in trends. New markets have emerged and will continue to emerge, driven by logis-tics and Internet-based trade for instance.
