SP Fiber Technologies (SPFT) has announced plans to convert a newsprint machine at the company's Newberg, Oregon paper mill to lightweight packaging products. PM 5 ceased production of newsprint on January 15 to allow for necessary process modifications. The conversion is expected to be completed in the second quarter of this year.
