Russia's Volga stops newsprint PM for upgrade in May/June

Russian newsprint producer Volga has stopped its 95,000 tonne/yr PM 6 at the Balakhna mill for a three-week upgrade. The modernization project, which includes a new headbox with dilution control and a new fourdrinier, is aimed at improving the unit's output quality. PM 6 was scheduled to restart production by June 13. The cost of the investment, implemented by PMT Italia, is Euro 5 million ($7 million).
