On its website, Greenpeace shows numerous cases where collaborations with forest products companies led to agreements over land use. In Canada these include the Clayoquot Sound in BC, the Ogoki-Kenogami region in northern Ontario where Aditya Birla has taken over the Terrace Bay mill. There is also the Great Bear Rainforest region in BC that included companies such as Western Forest Products, Howe Sound Pulp & Paper and Catalyst. This 6.4-million ha is one of the largest intact temperate rainforests on the planet. Under the agreement, more than 2 million ha were permanently protected from industrial logging. The remaining area became subject to improved logging practices to allow for viable economies.
