THE INDIAN PAPER CHALLENGE

IN SPITE OF THE SLOWING GLOBAL paper market, the Indian paper industry is expected to grow at a substantial rate between 2013 and 2017. Much of the new capacity will come from the major players in the industry that have an established organizational structure, experienced staff to develop and implement projects, knowledge of modern paper manufacturing technology, financial backing, and in many cases an integrated pulp supply that can be mixed with waste paper. These companies are in a good position to implement paper machine rebuilds and new paper machine projects. Advanced paper production technology will be involved and higher quality products are the target, subject to the availability of fiber raw material and the market forces.
