Norske Skog starts improved newsprint production at Skogn mill in Norway

Norske Skog has begun manufacturing improved newsprint in addition to standard newsprint on PM 1 at its Skogn mill in Norway. The machine can churn out some 172,000 tonnes/yr of paper. The company is using approximately one third of this capacity for making improved newsprint, focusing on the basis weights 48.8-g and 52-g, with a brightness of ISO 68.
