NO SOONER HAD Foshan Huafeng Paper celebrated the startup of PM 3 at its Zhuhai mill, Guangdong province, than the Chinese firm announced plans to increase the capacity of the new white lined chipboard (WLC) unit from 300,000 to 350,000 tonnes/yr. PM 3, supplied by Metso Paper and its Chinese joint venture company Valmet-Xian, started commercial production at the greenfield mill in Zhuhai city in February 2007. Metso has been contracted to carry out the upgrade later this year.
