PREDICTING THE FUTURE is a dangerous business,but also a lucrative one,as newspaper astrologers will confirm.This issue PPI dusts off its crystal ball to investigate some of today's developments that will likely impact the industry of tomorrow.Joanne Hunter and Nils Lindstrand respectively take a closer look at SustainPack and Paper Four:two European research projects that are aiming to develop paper-based packaging solutions that meet the needs of 21st century retailers and consumers.In both cases,the future is all about the integration of paper products into digital networks.If a symbiosis between these two,until now antagonistic,delivery systems can be achieved it could give the paper industry a whole new lease of life.
