Panel recommends Semapa

A jury from the Portuguese finance ministry has chosen Semapa as its preferred bidder for a slice of Portucel.The government is offering 30% of its 56% stake in the firm under this stage of the privatization process.The unsuccessful bidders were Anglo American,Domtar,CVC Capital Partners and Cofina.The jury presented its verdict to the government on April 8.A final announcement from the state was expected by the end of April.
