Automatic dwelling segmentation of the Buenos Aires Province for the 2010 Argentinian Census

Purpose: To present a computational approach to determine which dwellings within a census tract each enumerator must visit (dwelling segmentation problem). Summary: The above problem is a challenge and it generally includes a set of constraints on the enumerator's assigned routes and various criteria regarding homogeneity and uniformity of the segmentation solutions. This solution was successfully applied to the Province of Buenos Aires, leading to considerable improvement over manual methods. (12 refs.)
