An investigation of the measurements systems analysis 'analytic method' for attribute gages

It is discussed in brief about the 'analytic method' for attribute gages developed and incorporated in the reference manual entitled, "Measurement Systems Analysis," of the three automotive corporations. The procedure for using the analytic method for attribute gages available in the manual is described. The probabilistic model proposed for the analytic method is presented and various methods of estimating the bias and repeatability with respect to gage measurement for attributes are proposed. The feasibilities of using the proposed method to that of the analytic method are studied through simulation.
