To present some ground rules for successful deployment of Six Sigma. For many organizations, Six Sigma is a measure of quality that strives for near perfection. It is a disciplined data-driven approach and methodology for eliminating defects and reducing variation in processes to attain 3.4 defects per million opportunities. Six Sigma is a business strategy that fosters a cultural shift at all levels. The author explains the concept of Six Sigma cup and emphasizes that success of a Six Sigma project depends on the ingredients that are to be added in the cup. A discussion of the key ingredients is presented.
