How to obtain bathtub-shaped failure rate models from normal mixtures

The failure rate and the mean residual life in reliability are considered. Because of the nature of the bathtub-shaped failure rate, many studies have been made using mixtures of different distributions. In these lines, it is attempted to show that bathtub-shaped failure rates can be obtained from a mixture of two positive truncated normal models with increasing failure rates.
