A place to call home: Builder leverages quality toolbox, culture to construct house for 'Extreme Makeover' TV show

摘要

The present article has presented a case study to show how quality management tools, techniques and practices that are embedded in an organization not only improves effectiveness and efficiency but also creates enables the organization to with-stand unforeseen events. This has been demonstrated using the case of Veridian Homes in Madison, WI, which was given a task of building a 3,ooo-square-foot home in 106 hours for a family experiencing hardship in Richland Center, Wl. The paper explains the tools and techniques used and how the challenges were met. (no refs.)
