STEREOCHEMISTRY OF SPIROSULFURANES AND THEIR OXIDES - STATIC AND DYNAMIC ASPECTS

Efficient synthetic approaches to optically active spirosulfuranes and their oxides (including the first asymmetric synthesis) are described. The mechanism of their thermal and chemically induced racemization is discussed in the light of the experimental results obtained. The synthesis of the spirosulfurane precursors in the reaction of orthometallated cumyl (perfluorocumyl) alkoxides with prochiral sulfinyl derivatives is also briefly reported. [References: 35]
