Buyer surveys from Purchasing show linerboard prices in June averaging $533/ton. And George Staphos at Bank of America Securities-Merrill Lynch Research says linerboard prices "could be stabilizing" and some market sources are even suggesting the possibility of an autumn price increase-since linerboard inventories appear to be "very well managed." Staphos says demand appears to be improving modestly "which could stem further price erosion."
