PURCHASINGDATA.COM REPORTS THAT LEADTIMES for delivery of Car-bon black have risen steadily from an average 11 weeks in 2004 to 13 weeks in 2005 to 14-plus weeks so far this year.This product(also known^as furnace black)is used worldwide to make rubber,tires,coatings,plastics,inks and inkjet colorants.A new 50 million production plant opening this month in China,billed as the largest carbon black factory in the world,will account for one-fifth of that country's total output and should loosen global supply.
