Sartomer: benchmarking for savings

Reducing the number of carriers was a top priority for the US 250 million specialty chemicals maker Sartomer of Exton, Pa. According to Bruce Farina, vice president of supply chain, Sartomer was using as many as 70 LTL carriers at its six plants, which was adding a significant amount of cost to the LTL operations.
