Soft economy has dramatically reduced purchasing plans

GDP FELL 3.8% IN LAST QUARTER U.S. ECONOMY SHRANK by 3.8% in the fourth quarter of 2008, the biggest decline in 26 years. The Bureau of Economic Analysis says Americans, hit by tight credit and soaring job losses, slammed the brakes on spending in the quarter. This is the largest quarterly drop in real gross domestic product since the first quarter of 1982, when the economy suffered a 6.4% decline.
