Booming demand for NAND flash memory ICs by consumer electronics equipment and cellular telephones will result in NAND surpassing the NOR flash memory market in 2005.The good news for buyers is despite strong demand,prices will fall 40% in 2005 because of stiff competition.Until this year,NOR flash had outpaced the NAND market and other flash memory architectures,primarily due to its use in cellular phones.NOR flash remains the preferred flash memory because it provides fast reads which is useful for pulling data out of memory.
