Randy Brown dabbles in a little bit of everything farm related. He'll try anything new just to keep things interesting. "The only reason I have a cow and calf operation is to try something different every year," says Brown, a grower near Rexburg in Madison County, ID. He leaves corn stalks standing through the winter. He breeds cows earlier than most other growers and he grows radishes as a rotational crop for potatoes. "My neighbors haven't tried it so they must think I'm crazy," says Brown. Surprisingly, the crazy sometimes works and his radishes are working wonders.
