POTATOES in Practice is a great opportunity for growers to find out about the latest developments in the potato industry, says Finlay Dale, senior potato breeder at the James Hutton Institute in Dundee. He is encouraging growers to attend this summer's event (on August 9th at Balruddery Farm, Invergowrie on Tayside) to ensure that they are kept abreast of R&D and crop treatments. It is sponsored once again by Potato Council, hosted by Hutton in partnership with SAC and Agrii, and supported by PotatoReview. Speaking in a new Youtube video* produced to promote the day, Dr Dale says: 'Potatoes in Practice has a solid track record of providing growers and the wider industry with the latest advice, and is now the biggest potato field event in the UK with more than 700 attendees last year. It's a very wide-ranging field day with something for everybody, agronomists, students, researchers and farmers alike.'
