Analysis of Factors Affecting the University of Paisley Library

In early 2007, the author undertook a five-week unpaid work placement at the University of Paisley (UoP) Library as part of his studies for the MSc Information and Library Studies at the University of Strathclyde. In part, the placement involved preparing a 5000-word report on a topic chosen in conjunction with the placement provider. The author chose to investigate the external and internal factors affecting policy and practice at the UoP Library. The project consisted of statistical and qualitative analysis of a range of sources pertaining to the UoP and its library. Background literature was consulted, and additional insight gained through informal discussion with professional and paraprofessional staff at the UoP library. What follows is a concise version of the resulting report.
