摘要

Since 2001, a total of 2.4 million active-duty and reserve military personnel have been deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan. Of this group, 30%— nearly 730,000 men and women— have a mental health condition that requires treatment. Studies have shown that 18.5% of these veterans have posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), major depression, or both, and nearly 12% have another mental disorder. However, less than half of those with disorders receive treatment, and of these only 30% receive evidence-based care.
