The Budget is expected to have a marginally positive impact on the pharmaceutical players on account of rationalisation of excise and customs tariff, as well as initiatives to boost R&D. For the bulk drug players, the decline in the customs duty on intermediates and chemicals (following the decline in peak rate of duty from 30% to 25%) may lead to a small reduction in raw material costs.
