Many combined cycle gas power plants in the U.S.were built between 1995 and 2005.Capable of double the energy efficiency of gas cycle only plants,combined cycle plants efficiently route the exhaust gases from the initial gas turbine combustion to the heat recovery steam generator,where water is heated to create steam to run a separate turbine/ generator set.
