Chemplast green-field PVC project moves ahead

Chemplast Sammar Ltd., which has finalised funding for the Rs. 500-crore, 1,70,000 PTA PVC project, has to clear one more formality, to begin work on the project-that of getting clearance from the Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board (TNPCB). A senior official of the company said that an application to the TNPCB had been made in June, soon after the financial closure was achieved, and that the board's decision could come anytime now.
