Insects inhabit nearly every place on earth and they are also present in close proximity with humans. Household insects are nuisance to humans as they disturb comfort, sleep or adversely affect the household commodities and human health. Some of theseare seen flying inside the houses, and some are seen crawling on the ground. Also some insects breed outside the house in muddy water, swamps, wastes etc. and then enter the house. Some insects breed and complete their life cycle inside the house. Theseinsects, generally, cause damage to books, wooden articles, clothes, food etc. and can be vector of many diseases like dysentery, cholera, typhoid, malaria and dengue. Hence, it is very essential to study the life history, damage and management practices to decrease or prevent the damage to human health and household.
