Kinnow is a leading fruit crop of Punjab with an area of 48,182 hectares and production of 11,08,618 MT. It occupies 62 per cent of the total area under fruits. Kinnow is getting importance as an alternative crop for diversification because of its wide adaptability, attractive fruit colour, high juice content and good shipping quality for transportation to distant markets. Besides Punjab, kinnow has made a good impact in the markets of Delhi, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad and is in demand in countries like Myanmar, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, Iraq, Thailand and Hong Kong.
