Success story of Nirmal Singh, an entrepreneur

Nirmal Singh is a hard working and devoted entrepreneur. He prepares many products like haldi achaar, panjiri, powder; aloevera juice, achaar; amla juice, chutney, oil, vinegar; ginger pickle; karela achaar and jamun juice; and many other beauty products.Born to a family of a railway employee, Sh. Nirmal Singh is a hard working entrepreneur. He was more interested in setting up his own venture than doing a regular job. Keeping this goal in mind after completing his matriculation, he did a specializationcourse in Ayurvedic medicine. After the sad demise of his father, he opened a small shop which didn't give him much profit. In the year 2011, he prepared two products of turmeric including haldi achaar and haldi panjiri; these products gave him some profit. Seeing the success of haldi items in the market ,Nirmal Singh was motivated to come up with more products of turmeric. He contacted the faculty of Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Samrala and attended the training course on 'Care of Fruits and Vegetables in Summer Season' in June 2012. He learnt and made many products like mango and tomato chutney, mango sweet -sour pickle, lemon pickle, jam, mango squash, lemon squash, rose syrup, etc. He started earning Rs 3,20,000 annually, but that was not the end for Nirmal Singh. The faculty at Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Samrala motivated him to attend the courses being offered by Directorate of Extension Education of Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana. He attended a few courses in 2012. During this course of time, hemet Mrs. Kulwant Kaur, farm women from village Burj. Bothof them started making products of turmeric and other products.
