RODENTS and bird pests inflict multivariate losses in godowns and poultry farms. The godowns and poultry houses provide ideal habitat for these pests as these can support unusually high population due to easy and abundant availability of food. In poultry farms these pests consume, waste and deteriorate the poultry feed which accounts for 50-75% of the running cost of a poultry farm. These pests tend to establish their nesting/burrowing sites inside the godowns and poultry houses in between or underneath the feed/ grains filled gunny bags, tear/damage gunny bags resulting in spillage of poultry feed/grains. They contaminate the feed/food grains with hair, feathers, urine, feacal pellets, thus deteriorate its quality.
