Crop Regulation : A Boon for Fruit Growers

摘要

OBJECTIVE of any orcbardist is to produce high quality fruits over a number of years without affecting the tree health. Fruit plants like kinnow, pear, peach, grape and guava set abundant crop under natural conditions. If the entire crop load is allowed to reach maturity the fruits become abnormally small, misshapen, poor colouration with inferior quality. It also affects fruiting in the successive years which is manifested through irregular bearing in orchards. Besides, heavy crop load also causes limb breakage and early decline of trees.
