The goal of precision agriculture is to gather site-specific information and enable farmers to vary management practices accordingly. The principles of precision agriculture are relevant not only to large farms but also for small and medium farms. Sustainable agriculture involves the use of innovative technologies that are ecologically, economically, and socially beneficial. Conservation and precision agriculture are emerging as better management strategies for sustainable agriculture. Precision agriculture is a strategy of managing small areas within fields instead of managing whole field as a single unit. Our forefathers were also using field-specific information to manage pests, nutrients, water, and other resources more efficiently.
