It has been estimated that about half a million women and children die each year from indoor pollution in India. Compared to other countries, India has the largest burden of diseases due to the use of conventional household fuels (wood, cow dung, coaletc) and 28 per cent of all deaths due to indoor air pollution occur in India. Among the host of environmental problems surrounding human beings, pollution is the major one. It can be both indoor as well as outdoor but we usually think of pollution as being outdoor problem. As we walk through our homes, the air turbulence created by our bodies stirs up a combination of dust and debris that can be very irritating to the lungs.
