Defects in biogas plants and their remedies

Sometimes, expected yield of biogas is not obtained. This may be due to some defects at installation and operational level. Abiogas plant of 1m~2 capacity produces 1000 litre of gas per day (except during winters) under optimum conditions of temperature and feed. Sometimes, expected yield of biogas is not obtained. This may be due to some defects at installation and operational level. Any deviation from the standard specifications in construction is called installation defects .Any defects in the functioning of biogas plant caused by the short comings in inputs and accessories are called operational defects. Most of the biogas plants installed now is of fixed dome type. So the details will be discussed with reference to fixed dome biogas plants only.
