BIOFERTILIZERS refer to ail nutrient inputs for plant growth, which are of biological origin. There are also referred to as "microbial inoculants' and include nitrogen fixers, phosphate soiubilizers, plant growth promoters or cellulolytic microorganisms which are applied to seed to enhance availability of nutrients which in turn enhances crop productivity and soi! fertility. Biofertilizers are eco-friendly and can minimize the use of chemical fertilizers but cannot replace totally.
