Soybean : a replacement for rice?

摘要

SOYBEAN grains contain 35-37% protein and 21-23% oil. Some of the important uses of soybean are edible oil, soymilk and milk products, backery products, fresh green beans etc. Soybean is an important crop for crop diversification in the Punjab. However, it is comparatively a new crop in the state. The Punjab Farmers Commission is making efforts for popularizing this crop in the state by purchasing the produce at reasonable price. The farmers could obtain high yields of soybean by growing improved varieties and following the improved production technology as given below.
