Efficient management of insect pests in kinnow

CLIMATIC conditions of Punjab are very typical where the fruit crops of temperate, sub-tropical and tropical regions are grown successfully. Presently, out of 47000 ha under fruit crops, citrus occupies about 47 per cent and Kinnow alone has about 41per cent share. The persistent improvement in the production technology had a significant impact on the Kinnow production but it also increased the pest ravages. Currently, citrus crop in Punjab is being damaged by about 22 insects and mite pests and the economically important pests are listed in Table 1.
