TL-1: A New Variety of Teosinte for Punjab

TEOSINTE is a tall, leafy and succulent fodder. It is locally known as Makchari. It resembles maize but it tillers profusely. It can supply green fodder upto November when there is shortage of it. The research work done at the Punjab Agricultural University has resulted in the development of a new variety of teosinte TL-1. The new variety is high yielding and late maturing. It has been released for general cultivation in the Punjab.
