WATER is one of the most important nutrient along with other nutrients viz. energy, protein, fat, vitamins and minerals. It is of great need of our body as it is composed of 67 percent water. Its need is higher in summer due to more losses through perspiration. Water is essential for us for performing a number of functions in our body such as it helps to maintain body temperature, to digest the food, for transportation of nutrients, for excretion of waste products, acts as solvent, lubricant and protects the delicate parts of the body. So such an important nutrient must be consumed in adequate amount daily which is 3-4 litres.
