Educating the farmers about most suitable variety for them is a major task. Decision regarding the choice of variety hasto be taken much advance of sowing. Improved variety, being the single most important factor in crop production, has piayed a pivotal role. Variety is the basic input. If we look at the increase in total production, out of two factors i.e. area and variety and technology, later has predominant role. Considering all recommendations as a chain, then variety is the first link, as all the technologies/recommendations apply on it.
