Comparative Study of the Registration Requirements for Agrochemicals in USA and India Part 3-Registration of Insecticides

The Principal legislative authority for EPA's regulation of pesticides is FIFRA. Under this statute, EPA exercise pre-market licensing or registration authority over all pesticides sold in the United States. US laws primarily Federal Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act known as FIFRA requires numerous studies and data to be submitted to EPA to support a pesticides registration. Obtaining a Reg-istration for a new pesticide product in U.S. requires an encyclopedic knowledge of requirements and procedures of every country, familiarity with the latest agrochemicals legislation and the scientific bility to understand, interpret and present the mass of technical data generated by researchers.
