Continuous analysis of fly-ash particles in Kraft recovery-boiler flue gases

The need to measure both the concentration and composition of flue-gas dustin kraft recovery boilers is increasing, largely due to the requirement of lower emissions and closed chemical cycles. However, closed cycles tend to enrich non-process elements, such as potassium and chlorine, in the flue-gas dust. Build-up of dust particles on heat-transfer surfaces reduces boiler efficiency and can lead to severe corosion of boiler tubes.
